Chef Chaz Lindsay grew up in Belhaven - just down the road from where Pulito Osteria stands today. He started cooking at 15 at Pizza Shack on North State Street in Jackson, MS, then went on to train at the Culinary Institute of America.

From there, he spent years working in some of the most celebrated kitchens in America: Colicchio and Sons, and both Craft and Eleven Madison Park under Tom Colicchio. Eleven Madison Park ranked #1 on the San Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurants list and the James Beard Award for Best Chef in New York City.

He left New York to cook at a restaurant in Rome, Italy, deepening his love for Italian food. Then, he came home to open Pulito Osteria. Italian in spirit, season by instinct, and unmistakably Belhaven.

This might very well be my favorite restaurant in the world. The flavor, the service, the drinks… I love this place. 10/10 truly.

As a first-generation Italian American who was fortunate enough to grow up with my Nonna’s cooking, I was absolutely blown away by the authenticity and depth of flavor…

Charles and his team in the bar did a killer job on drinks. I’d bet this restaurant is the best in Mississippi.
